Two witnesses driving back home after dropping off a friend spotted what appeared to be a bright star approaching their vehicle. They stopped at an intersection to watch and noticed another man in a station wagon doing the same thing. As the object came closer they could make out a saucer shaped craft. The object hovered over the vehicle about a 2 story high building. On the lower part of the UFO there was a bright light and it was surrounded by what seemed about a ten-foot section area, which all of a sudden started emitting multicolored lights. It seemed as if there was a pattern to the lights as they went in different directions. Above the area where the lights were being emitted there were what seemed to be glass windows and the witnesses could make out figures moving inside. The figures were human shaped except that they had very long and thin arms. Frightened the witnesses drove away and the UFO followed them for what seemed to be about five to ten minutes. As they approached the city lights the object suddenly took off in the opposite direction. Looking back the witnesses spotted three military helicopters headed toward the general area where the UFO had gone.

Time:  Afternoon
Two sisters, Libby and Deany Ford, observed a “big black bird” near a pond northeast of Brownsville, which lies along the Texas-Mexico border. Libby said that the creature was as big as her “and it had a face like a bat.” Later looking through a book in an effort to identify the creature they likened it to a pterodactyl.

Alverico Guajardo heard something hit his trailer, dashing outside he got into his station wagon, drove it slowly around the south side of the trailer and shone his headlights on “something from another planet.” As the lights hit the creature, which had been lying on the ground, it suddenly rose up and stared at Guajardo with blazing red eyes the size of silver dollars. For the next 2 or 3 minutes it stood gazing at the man, who sat immobilized with fear. The creature was 4-feet tall, with black feathers and a beak whose length was between two and four feet. It was making a “horrible sounding noise” from its throat, which appeared to be pulsating. Its long bat-like wings were folded around its shoulders. The creature then backed carefully away toward a dirt road three feet away. By the time Guajardo had gathered enough courage to bolt out of his vehicle toward a neighbor’s house, the creature had vanished into the darkness.

Date:  January 1, 1976
Time:  Afternoon
Tracey Lawson, eleven, and her cousin Jackie Davies fourteen, were playing in Tracey’s backyard in an area in the Rio Grande Valley. As they looked out on a plowed field beyond the yard they noticed an unusual object standing some 100 yards away, near a borrow pit bordering an irrigation canal. Tracey went inside her house to get field glasses, through which she observed a “horrible looking” black bird of extraordinary size, over five feet tall. Its wings were folded around its body, and the bird was staring at the girls through large, dark red eyes attached to a gray “gorilla-like” face.

 

Its head was bald, and it had a beak at least six inches long, it made a loud, shrill “eeee” sound. The bird or whatever it was lost to view for a few moments, reappearing on the northeast corner of the property, its head poking above a small clump of trees. The girls fled inside and told Tracey’s mother and father, who did not believe them. But the next day Jackie’s stepfather, Tom Waldon, found strange tracks, three-toed, eight inches across, and square at the head, pressed an inch and a half into the hard ground. Stan Lawson also noted how oddly the family dog was behaving. It cowered inside the doghouse all day, leaving it only at suppertime, when it bolted into the house and had to be dragged out. That night Lawson thought he heard large wings scraping across the bedroom window, but whatever caused the sound left no trace of its passing.

About 60 miles west of Harlingen, Brownsville and the Gulf of Mexico is Weslaco, a city of 27,000 people in Hidalgo County, Texas. The city got its name from an acronym of the W. E. Stewart Land Company and has had its share of high strangeness as well. Most recently around 9 PM on February 28, 2010, 22-year-old local South Texas College student Jose E. Gonzalez arrived after classes at his mother's house. Jose was surprised to see his mom and 14-year-old brother Abran coming out of the house and looking up into the sky. Jose could see they were pointing at a large light about half way between the horizon and zenith that seemed to be about three miles north of their house and was shining more brightly than surrounding stars.

Jose told me, “We could see sparkling blue, red, orange - I mean, really weird, different colors! And we all thought it could not possibly be a star - it was too big to be a star. And it kind of moved a little bit. My mom has good eyes and she could see it move and change colors.”

Abran ran in the house to get Jose's Fuji digital camera and zoomed at the light as far as he could go and started snapping images. Eventually Jose asked to check the photos his brother was taking and saw that they were blurry because Abran was inexperienced with the camera. So, Jose took over to photograph on frame 2666. Looking through the lens, Jose could see three navy blue spheres stacked one on top of the other.

Jose Gonzalez, South Texas College Student, Weslaco, Texas:  “HOW MANY MINUTES HAD PASSED BEFORE YOU TOOK FRAME 2666?

Probably 5 or 10 minutes after I got home and checked my little brother's pictures and saw they were out of focus. Without looking through the zoom of the camera, all you could see was a bright light in the sky like a big star, but it had different colors. And with the zoom on the camera, we could see it had more to it – the three blue spheres.

Then about forty minutes after we had been photographing, the three vertical blue spheres changed into a triangle pattern of round things that were grayish colored with texture - very weird! [ Frame 2692.]

DID YOU SEE IN THE CAMERA THE CHANGE FROM THE THREE BLUE VERTICAL SPHERES TO THE TRIANGLE OF GREY OBJECTS?

No, unfortunately. We didn’t get the change on a picture.

TO YOUR EYE, COULD YOU SEE ANY  MOTION OF THE LIGHT IN THE SKY?

No, but my mom has good eyes and saw that it was moving. She would say, ‘Oh, it’s moving! It’s kind of like changing shape!’ So, I would zoom in on the camera and saw that it was in a triangular formation and took the picture.

THEN THREE FRAMES LATER AT 2695, IT HAS CHANGED TO ONE SPHERE WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE SOME KIND OF APPENDAGE COMING OUT OF THE CENTER?

Yes.

HOW MUCH TIME ELAPSED BETWEEN 2692 WHEN IT WAS A TRIANGULAR PATTERN AND 2695?

Ten minutes is my best guess. My mom said she could see changing colors and I could, too.

WHEN WE GET TO FRAME 2715, I’M ASSUMING IT'S ABOUT 40 MINUTES OR AN HOUR LATER …

Yes.

…  AND IT'S SIMILAR TO 2666, BACK INTO THE VERTICAL OF THE THREE BLUE SPHERES.

Yes, it was.

THEN FOUR FRAMES LATER AT 2719, FOR THE VERY FIRST FRAME IN THE SEQUENCE SO FAR, A LITTLE RED DOT IS NOW TO THE LOWER RIGHT. DID YOU ALL SEE THAT LITTLE RED DOT?

We didn’t see that until after we put the images on the computer. We don’t know what that is.

THEN 2738 IS A PALER, SIMILAR PATTERN OF THOSE THREE BLUE SPHERES STACKED ON EACH OTHER AND THE RED DOT IS IN THAT FRAME AS WELL.

We just kept looking at the main light that kept moving and changing colors. We didn’t notice the little red one. I don’t know what that is.

I’M LOOKING AT 2739 AND MY EYE SEES  A TURQUOISE BLUE PATTERN IN THE MIDDLE OF A HAZE OF NAVY LIGHT.

Yes, I’m looking at it now.

DID YOU SEE WITH YOUR EYE THE NAVY BLUE AND TURQUOISE CHANGING COLORS?

No, I couldn’t.

NOW, THE VERY LAST FRAME YOU SENT ME – 2755 – MAYBE TWO HOURS HAD ELAPSED?

An hour and a half.

IT'S A HAZIER VERSION OFSOMETHING VERTICAL AGAIN? IT SUGGESTS THAT 2755 IS A PHOTOGRAPH OF TRANSITIONING BACK TO THE THREE BLUE SPHERES OF 2666. OR THAT TWO OF THE SPHERES ARE FADING OUT WHILE THE CENTER ONE IS REMAINING. DID YOU EVER SEE THEM FADING UP FROM PALE LIGHT? FADING DOWN TO PALE LIGHT? DID YOU SEE ANY TRANSITIONS?

No, I couldn’t see any transitions.

WHAT DO YOU THINK WAS HAPPENING IN FRAME 2755?

I thought it was leaving because it was getting dimmer. Like it was going to take off or leave.

AND WHAT HAPPENED?

Around midnight (12 AM), this was the last shot we took. After that, I had school and some tests, so I went to sleep.

But around 2 AM, I got up again. I was curious if the light was still there. So I go to the front of the house facing north and look through the window and it’s still up there. I’m looking through a window. I don’t go outside at all. I looked outside and it was back in the same position again.

Then the blue light threw sparks. I don’t know what you call it, but it looked like sparks – two or three of them – down on to Weslaco.

WHAT COLOR WERE THOSE SPARKS?

A grayish hue, but really, really bright grey!

WHAT WAS THE COLOR OF THE OBJECT THAT THREW THE GREY SPARKS DOWN?

Blue.

SO IT WAS BACK TO THAT BLUE?

Yes.

THEN WHAT HAPPENED?

It was gone. It just ate itself up and disappeared inward.

DISAPPEARED INWARD. DO YOU MEAN IT CLOSED DOWN ON ITSELF TO BLACKNESS?

I guess that’s the best way you could put it.

IT DIDN’T ZOOM OFF?

No, no it didn’t.

OK, PLEASE DESCRIBE AGAIN WHAT THE NAVY LIGHT DID OVER WESLACO?

OK, the blue light was back where we had seen it earlier and was there for about five minutes. Then I just saw it throw sparks, like three sparks onto the ground beneath it. I don’t know how to describe it – it let off sparks – little particles or whatever. Greyish, but really bright! I could see them fall, but very slowly though. They didn’t fall at a rapid speed. From the big blue light, these smaller ‘sparks’ kind of floated downward on to Weslaco. Then I looked up at the blue light and it dissipated, ate itself up (from the outside into blackness).

As far as what fell down, I don’t know what it was. I mean, it was like 2 AM. I wasn’t going to go out there and like look for them (a mile or so north of his house).

IN YOUR MIND WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SLOW MOVING SPARKS AND BEAMS?

Beams – well, I guess beams would be a more bluish type of color and more bright. But these were not as bright. These were really dim little particles. They weren’t as bright as a beam, I don’t think.

THEY LOOKED MORE LIKE PARTICLES LEAVING THE VERY BRIGHT BLUE LIGHT AND GOING TO THE GROUND OVER WESLACO WHEREAS A BEAM WOULD BE MORE LIKE SOLID LIGHT FROM THE LIGHT DOWN TO THE GROUND?

Yeah, exactly.

SO YOU ARE LOOKING AT GREYISH PARTICLES MOVING SLOWLY DOWN FROM THE NAVY BLUE LIGHT ONTO THE TOWN OF WESLACO.

Yeah.

HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THE PARTICLES – THE SPARKS – KEPT MOVING SLOWLY DOWN TO THE TOWN?

Fifteen seconds, I would guess.

FIFTEEN SECONDS. AND THEN THE NAVY BLUE LIGHT THAT HAD EMITTED THE PARTICLES DOWN TO THE TOWN, IT JUST KIND OF DISAPPEARED BY EATING ITSELF UP – IT WENT FROM A NAVY BLUE LIGHT INWARD AND BECAME TOTALLY BLACK?

Yes. I couldn’t believe it that it did that! I just stood there in disbelief for about five minutes because I didn’t know what just happened. I couldn’t explain it. I’d never seen anything like that!

DID YOU WONDER WHAT THOSE PARTICLES WERE GOING DOWN ON TO WESLACO?

Yeah, I wondered. All sorts of things went through my mind like pods maybe? I don’t know.

PODS?

Yeah, the kind of thing you see on TV?

OH, LIKE INVADERS WITH PODS.

Exactly. But I thought there must be a rational explanation – it couldn’t be that.

Big, Digital-Red, Glowing Craft

OK, THAT’S 2 AM ON MARCH 1, 2010.  EXPLAIN WHAT YOU SAW AGAIN ON THE NIGHTS OF MARCH 2 AND 3.

The same blue, red, bright white star up there. It didn’t leave for four days. It was just up there.

DID YOU GET BINOCULARS OR A CAMERA TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN?

No, I had a busy week with tests so I couldn’t just stand there all night. So all we did was look at it. All our neighbors around here also looked at it and were mystified about what it was.

HOW DID YOU KNOW SOMETHING CHANGED ON THE FIFTH NIGHT (MARCH 4, 2010)?

Because every night I saw people looking up at the sky for four nights. The fifth night, the people were not there outside. I was searching for the big light, but I couldn’t see it anymore on March 4. So, I figured it must have gone somewhere else. The interesting thing is we've never seen that particular light again since, but around the middle of April, I came home from school. I had some videos I wanted to see on my computer and like in the back of my house, I have a window, right?

So, I go to my computer – it’s right next to the window and I’m looking outside to the back of some apartments and I see a girl tending to her laundry and she is looking upwards. This is around the same time – 9 PM, but in the middle of April like six weeks after the first big light.

The neighbor girl was looking upwards and I’m very curious about what she is seeing.And then I see her, her mother, her bigger sister out there looking up like pointing upwards. So, I’m like, ‘Ok, it’s got to be something!’

So, I peek out my window and I see a very huge object. Two bright lights on each end and a red hue in the middle just creeping softly, like going really, really slowly at a constant speed right across the back of our apartments.

IS IT LOW?

It’s very low, yes!

IS IT NEAR THE ROOFTOPS?

No, not that low, but it was pretty low. I mean, it was too low for a plane. So, I call my same brother Abran really quick and he comes running. And we watch it together and it’s already getting out of sight. In only three to four seconds, we see the object zip right across and was gone. I mean, from a big object that was going at a slow, constant speed and then being out of sight in only three to four seconds! That could not possibly be a plane!

RIGHT, AND DID YOU HEAR ANY NOISE?

None whatsoever. It was complete silence.

HOW BIG DO YOU THINK THE SIZE WAS BETWEEN EACH OF THE WHITE LIGHTS?

It was pretty big because it was glowing, but most of it was just a red glow between (the white lights), so I couldn’t possibly even guess at how big it was. Most of it was a red glow.

WERE THOSE WHITE LIGHTS PULSING OR BLINKING?

They were blinking

IF YOU WERE PICKING OUT A RED THAT VIEWERS AND I MIGHT KNOW, WHAT WOULD BE THE RED COLOR IN BETWEEN THE TWO WHITE LIGHTS?

I’m looking at the red numbers on my clock.

DIGITAL RED?

Just like that.

THAT IS REALLY AN INTENSE RED.

Yes, you could see it right across the apartment complex and it was pretty red.

HAVE YOU SEEN ANYTHING UNUSUAL IN THE SKY SINCE THE MIDDLE OF APRIL?

That’s the weird thing. No, there has been no activity up there. Nothing. It’s like they left.

2008 Rotating Triangular Craft Over Weslaco

Before now back in the summer of 2008, I saw another weird thing. I was coming home from work and to the left of me there’s another apartment and they were having a barbecue, sitting down on the grass. It was around 10 to 10:30 PM.

I get out of my car and look upwards and I see a triangle with lights on each end (three corners). That time the lights were all white. That triangle was hovering slowly – very, very slow, but no sound. Then I hear all the people getting excited to the left of me and they are all looking upwards where the triangle is flying really, really slow.

WAS THE SKY DARK WITH STARS?

Yeah, it was a clear night and all you could see was the triangle formation moving.

WHAT WERE YOU SEEING INA DARK, STARRY SKY THAT YOU COULD SAY IT WAS A TRIANGLE WITH LIGHTS AT THREE CORNERS?

Well, I could see a black triangle shape and it was circulating, going in a circle, but slowly. You could see the lights on each end (three points of triangle). They would rotate around. I could see it was rotating in a full circle as it was moving at a constant speed.

YOU COULD SEE THE ENTIRE TRIANGLE ROTATING?

Yes, yes! I could see the whole shape of the triangle rotating. There’s no mistaking about it. And it was moving slowly. No sound! I was getting really, really excited – calling my mother and little brother who were inside the house like always. I wanted them to come out. But as soon as I called them, that thing speeded up and was out of sight in seconds.

AS IF IT WERE AWARE THAT YOU WERE CALLING?

Yeah, I don’t know how that is, but I mean there was me and maybe eight other people (at barbecue) looking straight up at it. Then as soon as I called out, it just leaves, bolts out of sight.”
