September 25, 2014  Washington, D. C. - According to the September 2014 report by the World Meteorological Organization, the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere reached a new record high over the year 2013. The WMO's Greenhouse Gas Bulletin shows that between 1990 and 2013 — only 23 years there was a “34% increase in radiative forcing – the warming effect on our climate – because of long-lived greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and nitrous oxide. In 2013, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere was 42% higher than in the pre-industrial era starting in 1750. Methane climbed to 153% higher than the pre-industrial era; and nitrous oxide reached 21% higher. The global concentrations of CO2 rose to 396 parts per million in 2013 — an increase of 2.9 ppm from 2012. That is the biggest year-to-year change in three decades. Based on this current rate of increase, CO2 levels are expected to rise above 400 ppm by 2016.

Mysterious Shockwaves and Booms Persist

“I was on a ladder painting the house when I felt the ladder shake and then witnessed the whole Lake House shake. There was no boom — more like a shock wave of sorts. The strange thing was that as soon as the house and ladder finished shaking (maybe 5 seconds), I saw an A-10 Warthog fly by.”

- Resident of Alpena, Michigan, August 2014

September 9, 2014  Albuquerque, New Mexico - Earthfiles continues to receive reports about mysterious and unexplained trumpet or loud booms or even silent shockwaves.

Sea Stars Continue to Die By the Millions from Alaska to California: Is It A Virus?

“The situation in Puget Sound looks really grim. It’s really bad there. Several different species (of sea stars) — they are just dying like flies.”

- Neil McDaniel, Videographer and Naturalist, Vancouver, B. C., August 2014

August 27, 2014  Vancouver, Washington and Miami, Florida - The northeast Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Vancouver and down the West Coast  has been warmer than usual for months. At the same time, millions of sea stars — at least a dozen different species of them — have rotted away in a mysterious wasting disease that causes arms to drop off and then the bodies to dissolve away. Cornell University DNA research is said to be leading up to publication that the cause is a virus. But many scientists are linking the warming waters and warming climate change to an increase in all kinds of microbes that cause disease from the disintegrating sea stars to the decline in corals all over the planet.

A Real Live Gnome in Pennsylvania?

“I have a cabin north of Pittsburgh in the mountains of Western Pennsylvania ... I have a game camera set up in the woods to capture images of the abundant wildlife in the area. Three weeks ago, I discovered a series of three images of a creature that I have NEVER seen before.”

- Keith Sniadach, Writer, Pittsburgh, PA

“Gnome:  A legendary dwarfish creature supposed to guard the Earth's treasures underground.”

German garden gnomes (above) usually have bushy eyebrows, a long beard and conical hat, often reddish in color.

August 23, 2014  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - In 1200 A.D., a Swedish man named Frederik Ugarph found a hard wood statue only about six inches (15 cm) high of a little person wearing a conical hat in what is now Trondheim, Norway. The statue was standing on a pedestal engraved with the words:  “NISSE Riktig Storrelse.” That means, “Gnome, actual height.” Owned and housed today by the Oliv family in Uppsala, Norway, X-ray tests indicate the wooden statue is more than 2,000 years old, perhaps carved from a tree that is no longer known.

Two More Mysterious Deep Holes in Siberia’s “End of the World.”

“It is not like these three craters are the work of men, but they also don't look like natural formations.”

- Unnamed scientist about mysterious Siberian craters

Above map of three mysterious deep holes in Siberia. 262 feet in diameter, “Crater 1” on Yamal Peninsula near the Bovanenkovo natural gas and oil fields was first reported on July 16, 2014, when scientists went to investigate. Following that news, locals in the Taz District of Antipayuta, Yamal Peninsula, said a year ago they had also discovered a big hole, “Crater 2,” that was about 50 feet in diameter on September 27, 2013. After that, reindeer herders on Taymyr Peninsula east of Yamal have also reported yet a third unexplained "Crater 3," a very deep hole about 13 feet in diameter. Map © 2014 by MailOnline.

July 31, 2014  Yamal Peninsula and Taymyr Peninsula, Siberia - The Siberian Times reports that two more deep holes have been found in Siberia's “end of the world” Yamal Peninsula and Taymyr Peninsula on the Kara Sea. This is after the mid-July discovery of a still-unexplained huge hole that scientists traveled to Yamal Peninsula on July 16th to investigate a 262-foot-diameter hole near the natural gas and oil fields of Bovanenkovo. Scientists were looking for suspected evidence of heat and scorching, but did not find any around that first hole. See First Hole further below.

Yellowstone Melting Road and Seismic Swarms — Reality Check

“Underground gas pressure can build up and these little swarms are kind of Nature's pressure release valve. The pressure gets a little too high, the earthquakes pop off — sometimes for just a day, which was the case in these July 5 - 14, 2014, (off and on) swarms.”

More Mysterious, Eerie Metallic Sounds — Invisible Conflict? Or Warning?

— “The metallic scraping sound was menacing, foreboding, a screeching unrelenting assault on the auditory senses. All I can say is that the sound seemed like some kind of warning.”

– Earwitness, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada

— “We heard this horrible metallic, scraping, synthesizer sound over the  music we were listening to. ...Although we could see nothing, we could  hear and feel something massive rising from the canyon below until it was directly above our heads.”

- Earwitness, Coachella Valley near Palm Desert, California

July 14, 2014  Albuquerque, New Mexico - Since the current cycle of strange sounds around the world began in early 2011, perhaps the oddest is the metallic scraping, trumpet sounds or metallic humming that have been reported throughout North America and even one loud pulsing hum event linked to aerial diamond-shaped craft over Tangshan City, Hebei Province, China, in September 2011.

Another “Dragonfly Drone” with Isaac Whistleblower – But in 1981!

“The object was round with like an arm on it and it had wires sticking up out of it. It was big enough that I thought, ‘How is it just sitting there in the sky?! What the heck is it? Why isn’t it making any noise?”

- “Mary,” Dragonfly Drone Eyewitness, Early 1981, Phoenix, Arizona

June 26, 2014  Detroit, Michigan - Seven years ago in May 2007, I began reporting at my news website, Earthfiles.com, about photographs and encounters of eyewitnesses with strange , silent aerial craft  shaped like dragonflies that were seen hovering low in the sky — sometimes flickering in and out of visibility. Two different people — one in central California and another in Birmingham, Alabama — photographed a silver ring with a long tail hovering close to power and telephone poles.
