January 7, 2011  Timberlake, North Carolina - There are problems in trying to translate the stream of zeros and ones that former RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge Staff Sergeant James Penniston wrote down in his notebook after the traumatic encounter with lights and craft of unknown origin on December 26, 1980.

First, are the stream of numbers translatable in 7-bit ASCII (pre-1986) or 8-bit ASCII (post- 1986)? Willing to take on the task were two retired scientists:

- Horace R. Drew, Ph.D. from Caltech in 1981, and now Australia, and well-known for producing the first high-resolution x-ray structure of DNA, for discovering certain aspects of the genetic code used to curve DNA in chromosomes, and for serious studies of geometries and other embedded mathematical “language” in crop formations under the pseudonym “Red Collie.”

- American retired astronomer Michael A. Reed, Ph.D., University of Arizona, and former astronomical instrumentation specialist, University of Arizona, now retired in Timberlake, North Carolina.

Updated: New Year Deaths of Birds, Fish and Crabs Around the World

Map's upper right red circle is Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, where at least two million spot and croaker fish have been found floating dead since around New Year's eve 2010. Authorities say “probably killed by the cold weather.”

Florida red circle is Spruce Creek near Daytona Beach where thousands of fish have been found washed up dead since around New Year's eve 2010. More cold weather blamed.

January 2, 2011  Woodbridge, Suffolk, England - I have learned that human eyes and visible light sensitive cameras are not adequate for monitoring the environment where highly strange phenomena have been reported. Near and Far Infrared and the mid-range in between are the frequencies where many phenomena “hide” from human retinas.

December 12, 2010  Albuquerque, New Mexico - On November 23, I reported news updates on Coast to Coast AM radio and at Earthfiles.com that included lights and “gyroscopes” of unknown origin over Isles of Capri, Florida, and a Texas nurse's face-too-face encounter with a lizard-skinned creature at her home. I received  hundreds of emails from people describing similar sightings or encounters, including a TV and radio engineer who has worked on an American president's press conferences. December 21, 2010  Albuquerque, New Mexico - On December 16, I reported news updates on Coast to Coast AM radio and at Earthfiles.com that included unusual changing patterns of bright orange lights of unknown origin over Naples, Florida. One Earthfiles viewer submitted the image below of actual military flares that clearly show the smoke emitted by the burning chemicals in flares. Below the flare image is a photograph of one of the patterns of orange aerial objects that were seen and photographed and videotaped above Naples for more than an hour on September 14, 2010 - silent, without smoke. December 15, 2010  Hill AFB, Ogden, Utah - On December 12, 2010, I received the following email with two images attached of a brightly glowing disc above Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah, according to the sender. I am reprinting the entire email minus name and a particular division at Hill AFB in order to protect the sender's request for anonymity.

I have attached 2 pictures that my co-worker took on 12 Sept 10, with her cell phone. She just recently told me about them because she was afraid that she would be in trouble over the location where they were taken. We both work at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah, on swing shift for the DoD in a division related to various weapons systems.

December 1, 2010  Naples, Florida - At 3:26 AM Eastern, the Naples, Florida Police Dispatcher received a 911 call from a Naples resident who wanted to know what a bright, white light was over the Gulf not far from her 5-story-high condo. The woman said she had a telescope focused on the light and had seen it the previous two nights and she was becoming alarmed.

Marco Island and the nearby Isles of Capri are a little south of Naples, Florida (red circle) west of the Big Cypress National Preserve. Throughout 2010, there have been persistent sightings by many residents of a very large, bright, spinning light of unknown origin that some eyewitnesses compare to an aerial “gyroscope.”

November 24, 2010  Isles of Capri, Florida south of Naples - On October 31, 2010, the Marco Eagle that serves the Florida community of Marco Island south of Naples, ran a story entitled “Starry Nights Unexplained Sights” by Tom Williams, author of the adventure novel "Lost and Found." Tom had interviewed Morgan Beall, the Florida State Section Director of the Mutual Unidentified Flying Object network known as MUFON. Since January 2010, MUFON and local police and fire authorities have received calls from many Naples, Isles of Capri and Marco Island residents about highly strange aerial lights that spin, form geometric patterns that keep changing and even one very large object of unknown origin that has been compared to a gyroscope because it has both horizontal and vertical bands of lights that spin around a central, bright, glowing center.
