Chapter 13

UFO Reported in 1897

Many people look upon the sighting of UFOs as something that has happened only in recent years. But there was at least one such incident almost 80 years ago, according to a story in a newspaper published at that time. The strange episode reportedly took place in mid-April of 1897 on a farm in Kansas and involved the theft of a cow by the UFO, right before the farmer's eyes!

The news story, published in the Woodson County Advocate on April 23, 1897, relates the following incident, as told by the farmer, Alexander Hamilton, of Vernon:

"Last Monday night about half past ten o'clock, we were awakened by a noise among the cattle. I arose, thinking perhaps my bulldog was performing some of his pranks, but upon getting to the door, I saw to my amazement, an airship slowly descending over my cow lot about 50 rods from the house. Calling Gib Heslop, my tenant, and my son, Wall, we seized some axes and ran to the corral. Meanwhile, the ship had been gently descending until it was no more than 30 feet above the ground and we came up within 50 yards of it.

False Story Fools Public

Throughout the entire investigation, Cascade County deputies have meticulously sought to obtain the most accurate and factual information available. This has not always been easy, as memory plays tricks on people who are frightened or excited. And people find it difficult, sometimes, to describe something few others have ever seen.

Despite these obvious problems, officers have done everything possible to substantiate reports. They visited the scene of mutilations and sightings and searched for every shred of evidence. In some cases, they have questioned others living in the area. They also administered lie detector tests.

Hairy Creatures, Eight Feet Tall

Law officers have been unable so far to find an explanation for the sequence in which the strange events have occurred. First, there was the rash of cattle mutilations, then the many sightings of unidentified helicopters, followed by numerous UFO sightings and more recently, the reports of people who saw one or more strange hairy creatures that walked upright like a man. There were overlapping events. One type of activity seemed to decline as another started. Was it a piece of the puzzle or coincidence? Speculation seemed futile.

Egg-Shaped Craft with Arms

As UFO sightings were publicized by the news media in Montana, there was bound to be a number of honest mistakes by individuals who mistook an extremely bright star for a UFO (unidentified flying object).

A report of six UFOs near Raynesford turned out to be Venus, Mars and a constellation of stars. What two Great Falls girls thought was a UFO was believed to be a beacon light. A sighting near Fairfield was believed to be another planet. But not all sightings could be explained that easily. In fact, most reports defied explanation.

October 19, 2002  Sedona, Arizona - In the 1989 book Mass Dreams of the Future by historian and sociologist, Chet Snow, Ph.D., with psychologist Helen Wambach, Ph.D. (deceased), the book flap stated:

"As we near the end of the 20th century, it is clear that Earth is undergoing a profound evolutionary transformation. The nature and extent of this transformation have now been revealed through the future-life progression hypnosis sessions undergone by hundreds of psychic voyagers and presented as the 'mass dreams' in this book. Chet Snow, a colleague of the late (psychologist), Helen Wambach, Ph.D., has continued her work, producing information about some of the momentous changes we can expect in the crucial decades immediately ahead: massive climate shifts; worldwide earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that will result in Japan and large sections of our West Coast sinking beneath the sea; the breakdown of economies and governments."

In the thirteen years since that publication, there has been a global climate shift toward rapid warming caused by increasing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases surrounding earth in a blanket that is getting thicker and thicker. There have been ongoing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but nothing so far large enough to plunge Japan and section of the West Coast of the United States into the Pacific Ocean. Governments have broken down and changed, such as the Soviet Union to Russia transformation. It might be fair to say that the economy of the United States self-destructed between 2000 and 2002 in the corrupt hands of greedy corporate executives.

Extraterrestrial Biological Entities and Discs Described by CIA/U.S. Army Administrator, 1957-1960

October 9, 2002 - My book, Glimpses of Other Realities, Volume II - High Strangeness, first released in April 1998, has a large "Military Voices" chapter which contains firsthand military and intelligence accounts, drawings and documents about extraterrestrial biological entities (Ebens) and non-human entities (NHEs) from origins unknown. Within weeks, several ex-military and ex-intelligence people from around the country contacted me in various ways. Repeatedly, I was told that the documents and testimonies in "Military Voices" have true information about United States government knowledge and cover-up of non-humans interacting with earth. One of those calls was from a relative of a retired Army and CIA administrator. A copy of my book was sent to him and by early May 1998, I was put in phone contact with a man I will call "Kewper" at his request to protect his identity.

Law Officers Go On Merry Chase

The idea that helicopters were possibly being used by those mutilating was not new to the Cascade County Sheriff's Department. They considered this possibility many, many times. But the thought had added emphasis when, in the late summer of 1975, they started receiving numerous calls from people who saw helicopters that could not be identified or heard strange noises, some like a helicopter, but saw nothing. There were also instances when they saw a helicopter, but could not hear it.

At almost the same time, the sheriff's office started receiving reports of UFO sightings and of strange bright lights. Officers contemplated the possible connection between unidentified helicopters and cattle mutilations because on several occasions a helicopter was seen hovering over some cattle.

October 5, 2002  S-4, Papoose Mountains, Groom Lake near Area 51 and Nellis AFB, Nevada - The first time I saw the phrase, "extraterrestrial biological entity" (EBE or EBEN) in an alleged government document was in the early 1980s when I was trying to further investigate the non-human link to global animal mutilations. I had produced the 1980 documentary, A Strange Harvest, for KMGH-TV (CBS) in Denver, Colorado where I was Director of Special Projects. For the television film, I interviewed many people in law enforcement, including Lou Girodo, Chief Investigator for the District Attorney's Office in Trinidad, Colorado. He had been assigned to investigate mysterious, bloodless, trackless animal deaths in southern Colorado and told me on camera that he and other investigators had concluded the perpetrators were "creatures not from this planet."

Bill Uhouse: "I spent 10 years in the Marine Corps, and four years working with the Air Force as a civilian doing experimental testing on aircraft since my Marine Corps days. I was a pilot in the service, and a fighter pilot; [I] fought in after the latter part of WWII and the Korean War Conflict, I was discharged as a Captain in the Marine Corps.

"I didn't start working on flight simulators until about - well the year was 1954, in September. After I got out of the Marine Corps, I took a job with the Air Force at Wright Patterson doing experimental flight-testing on various different modifications of aircraft.
