Canton in McPherson County, Kansas, is 28 miles north of Newton, where on December 18, 2015, the large white Charolais bull was found dead with its penis and testicles surgically removed.

January 5, 2016 Canton, Kansas - On New Year's Day 2016 north of the white Charolais bull mutilation in Canton, McPherson County, Kansas, 49-year-old rancher John L. Shearer was enraged to find one of his pregnant Gelbvieh heifers dead with its right eyeball removed along with a crescent of hide around part of the eye.
