August 25, 2020  Medellin, Colombia – In today’s Spanish language
El Tiempo newspaper in Colombia, South America, the headline asked:  “What was the loud noise that caused terror in Medellin (last night August 24, 2020)?” A cell phone video of unexplained, strange, jet-like sky sounds recorded over Medellin by Eduardo de Grieff at 10:06 pm local time began circulating in twitter on Monday evening, August 24, 2020. The night sky was dark and cloudy. There were no aircraft visible while the strange and loud jet-like sound alarmed people and provoked social media comments about   “ghosts to aliens from outer space” causing the scary night disturbance.

Historically, Medellin was a port in which there was a "placer," a submerged bank or reef of sand in the water. Cell phone recording of strange jet-like sound on August 24, 2020, at 10:06 PM local time by Eduardo DeGreiff, Medellin, Colombia, South America.
Eduardo de Grieff Spanish to English translation:  “This, in the past, opens the port of the child in Medellin. It was a placer.” Medellin, Colombia, has a population of 2.4 million people and its river port contains a submerged bank or reef of sand in the water known as a “placer.” The twitter image above is a video frame from a cell phone recording of a loud and strange jet-like sound on August 24, 2020, at 10:06 PM local time © by Eduardo de Grieff, in Medellin, Colombia, South America.

This is the fourth round of unexplained, bizarre sounds reported in Bogota, Colombia, since February 2020. By April 2020, odd sky sounds were compared to trumpets reported in Colombia and Argentina. Even earlier this month on August 5, 2020, Earthfiles received a strange sky sound report from Constanza Jaramillo in Manizales, Colombia, about a bizarre, loud sound that some people thought were trumpets and others heard as a roaring, circling jet. It was similar to a cell phone recording on June 22, 2020, in Austria, featured in an Earthfiles.com report on July 4, 2020. See link to Austria video at end of this report.

Colombia’s largest newspaper, El Tiempo, hypothesized that the explanation for the jet-like sound on Monday night, August 24th, might be a “cielomoto.” That Spanish word translates to “sky motorcycle or quake” in English. Some scientists think that occasionally meteors coming in fast in the upper atmosphere can produce sonic frequencies of varying intensities. But that would not explain the hundreds of strange booms, metallic trumpet sounds, scraping metal and loud, invisible jet sound reports that have emerged persistently from around the world in both hemispheres since 2011.
