NASA’s Perseverance Spacecraft Has Launched for Mars!

NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover lifted off successfully today, July 30, 2020, at 7:50 a.m. EDT (1150 GMT) aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station near Orlando, Florida. By February 2021, Perseverance — with its Ingenuity helicopter and technology to look for evidence of life on Mars,  past and present — is scheduled to land in the Jezero Crater.
