September 19, 2003 Menlo Park, California – In the past three weeks since I reported about potential threats of volcanic activity in the Pacific Northwest and changes in hydrothermal activity in Yellowstone Park, internet chat rooms have been buzzing about the idea of a “Super Volcano” erupting in Yellowstone. Excerpts from one e-mailer at rumormillnews.com said: “Yellowstone is worse than we thought. …there is a large dead zone of animals and vegetation. …New geysers and mud pots are springing up daily. …They have closed more areas to the public than is being reported. There are several areas where the ground temperature tops 200 degrees. And earthquakes are becoming a daily occurrence.” People are asking if all the increased heating could be the prelude to a “Super Volcano?”

Second Soybean Crop Formation in Ohio is Manmade. Could USAF Be Involved?
September 12, 2003 Bainbridge, Ohio – On Tuesday this week, September 9, crop circle investigators, Jeffrey Wilson and Roger Sugden, called to tell me a second soybean circle had been spotted near Bainbridge, Ohio, not far from an ancient mound called “Seip.” The new formation resembled a Mercedes hood ornament and is about twenty miles from the first soybean formation discovered on August 24, 2003, near the Serpent Mound outside Peebles and Locust Grove, Ohio.Click for report.

Update September 9, 2003: Ted Robertson reports that when he and others were in the Serpent Mound, Ohio, soybean crop formation with the farmer’s permission on Friday, August 29, that evening some local people were driving by the field and did not know that a crop formation was there. But the travelers told Delsey Knoechelman that thought the soybean field was glowing and described the appearance as similar to turning on a car headlight in the middle of a field filled with fog. A similar glowing field phenomena has been reported in England as well.Click for report.
Insect Evidence in Mysterious Banana Squash “Symbols”
September 9, 2003 Grass Lake, Michigan – Earlier this year on March 14, 2003, a restaurant owner in Salt Lake City contacted The Salt Lake Tribune about the banana squash he cut open filled with seeds seemingly carved with symbols and letters. (See Earthfiles 03/15/03 and 03/28/03) Kasim Barakzia is owner of Salt Lake’s Baba Afghan Restaurant in which he has also been the main cook for nine years. Banana squash is a staple in his restaurant meals and he was shocked while cutting open one to find what he thought were symbols and letters on the seeds, including several with what he perceived to be the Arabic symbol for “Allah.”Click for report.

The Investigation
Jeffrey Wilson, independent crop circle investigator with a Master’s Degree in general science, arrived around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29, with his colleague Roger Sugden who wanted to take aerial photographs. Meeting them in the field was Ted Robertson, a harpsichord craftsman volunteering to help with the survey and sampling work. The group had obtained permission from the farm owner via Delsey Knoechelman to enter the field. Jeffrey estimates he has been in more than 100 United States formations since his first investigation of the Paulding, Ohio pattern in 1996. “Geometrically, the Serpent Mound pattern is one of the most sophisticated that we’ve seen,” he told me this week, and all their electronic testing and plant sampling have shown statistically significant anomalies.
