January 27, 2017 Eros, Windhoek, Namibia - Along with the depressing headlines in December 2016 about the rapid decline of cheetahs came more headlines that giraffes have lost nearly half their population in just the last 30 years and are now also facing the risk of extinction this century.

We have all been hearing about Earth being in a 6th mass extinction because of human impact on once-natural habitats that are being developed for farms or houses or other human needs. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the IUCN, reported in early December 2016 that the number of species now on its Red List totals more than 85,000, with more than 24,000 at risk of extinction — including the world's tallest animal, the giraffe.

January 27, 2017 Namibia, Africa - I was stunned by The New York Times and National Geographic headlines in late December 2016 warning that “Cheetahs Are Dangerously Close to Extinction.” I remember a day in September 1985, after I had completed production on a documentary film in Ethiopia about child survival for UNICEF. My cameraman invited me to travel to his home in Nairobi, Kenya, and then visit the Maasai Mara National Reserve, a large game park in Kenya near the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania.

Unexplained, Loud, House-Shaking Boom Reported by Dozens to Mt. Holly, N.C. Police Night of Jan. 17th

January 19, 2017 Mt. Holly, North Carolina - Tuesday night, January 17, 2017, beginning at about 8:03 PM Eastern, the Channel 9-WSOTV newsroom in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, began receiving dozens of calls from viewers reporting a mysterious, loud, house-shaking boom. Channel 9 reporter Ken Lemon learned Mt. Holly police and county dispatchers also received over thirty 911 calls in a couple of hours from worried residents trying to find out what caused the bomb-like sound.

Chile Military Releases Unclassified UFO Video of Nov. 11, 2014

January 9, 2017 Santiago de Chile - The Chilean government's Committee for the Study of Aerial Phenomena (CEFAA) in Santiago de Chile has released unclassified videotape (never classified, but took two years to release) of a naval helicopter carrying out a routine daylight coastal patrol on November 11, 2014, when the camera operator noticed an unidentified flying object ahead. The first appearance of the UFO was as two dark spheres joined together that were was flying horizontally and at a steady speed similar to that of the naval helicopter.

December 21, 2016 Whitby, North Yorkshire, England - A month ago in a November 24, 2016, Earthfiles and COAST radio broadcast, I interviewed a 50-year-old Staten Island, New York, resident, who asked me to call him "Steve Bishop." He told me about his father's U. S. Air Force job from World War II on through the 1970s to retrieve dead non-humans at crash sites from Roswell and beyond. Paralleling his father's work were Steve's childhood abductions by a cream-colored, tall insectoid being that looked like a praying mantis with huge dark eyes. Steve tried to tell his mom and dad about the large praying mantis coming into his bedroom with small Grey beings, but his father didn't want to talk about any of it and would get angry at his young son, Steve, for any mention of the strange beings. Steve and I talked about whether his father knew there was a link between the praying mantis interactions and abductions of Steve and the father's job of retrieving dead E. T. bodies from crashes.

December 21, 2016 Phoenix, Arizona - In 2007 at a conference in Phoenix, Arizona, I met Jerry and Kathy Wills, who had been leading research expeditions to the mysterious carved door in a solid rock wall at Lake Titicaca in southern Peru near the Bolivian border. The local natives who speak the Aymara language call it Aramu Muru, “Gateway of the Gods.”

[ Editor's Note: Aymara is an ancient language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Quechua and Spanish, is an official language of Bolivia.]

The door shape carved in the solid rock wall known as Aramu Muru at its widest and highest is 23 feet. The location is on the southwestern edge of Lake Titicaca, Peru, near the Bolivian border. The local native Indians say it is “Puerta de Hayu Marca," a gateway to the lands of the Gods and immortal life. December 20, 2016 Phoenix, Arizona - Jerry Wills was trying to understand what the Other Universe's Intelligence was explaining about the laboratory experiment to create another universe that produced a spark that kept growing. Jerry thought the closest analogy would be the atomic and sub-atomic particle research we humans were doing at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland, that was first turned on in September 2008.

December 18, 2016 Spokane Valley, Washington - On the night of December 13 to 14, 2016, thousands of people in the Spokane Valley region of Washington state reported on Facebook and Twitter about strange, eerie sounds coming from the sky all night long. Beginning at nearly the same time, 3:05 AM Pacific, 64-year-old Kathy Schlenker woke up startled and puzzled by “a crying type noise that made me get up and walk outside on the deck of my trailer home.” Kathy lives in a park of 1,700 trailers. Oddly, she never saw anyone else come out of their trailers while she stayed outside until near sunup between 4:30 AM and 5 AM, mystified by the eerie, crying noise.
